Azerbaijan, China explore solar energy cooperation in liberated areas
Azerbaijan and China engaged in discussions regarding potential collaboration opportunities aimed at harnessing solar energy resources within the recently liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov met on May 16 with Chairman of China Energy International Group Co., Ltd. Lyu Zexiang, Azertag reports.
During the meeting, the sides hailed the successful development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of China. Noting that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to mutual relations, Minister Mikayil Jabbarov mentioned that the 6th Trade House of Azerbaijan started to operate in China. Jabbarov also praised the successful development of investment cooperation with the Chinese companies operating in Azerbaijan.
Minister Jabbarov provided insight into Azerbaijan’s favourable business and investment environment, as well as the privileges applied in the liberated territories. The minister highlighted the rich renewable energy potential of the country, the acceleration of the green energy transition, and the work done regarding the application of renewable energy technologies.
The sides discussed the prospects for cooperation with international companies with advanced experience in the field of green energy, as well as potential projects in this field.
The parties also exchanged views on opportunities for manufacturing green hydrogen and ammonia in Azerbaijan, as well as explored prospects for cooperation in the utilization of solar energy in the liberated territories. They expressed confidence that the future collaboration would be mutually beneficial for both parties.
