Azerbaijan clears 115,000 hectares of mines in liberated lands - ANAMA
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) Samir Poladov has said that 115,000 hectares of territory have been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan since the end of the 44-day war.
Demining equipment provided by brotherly Türkiye is also used in this process, APA reports.
Turkish-made robots are also involved in demining operations in the liberated territories: "We are using new technologies. These are remote-controlled robots and demining machines. They are used in destroying both anti-personnel and anti-tank mines."
Armenia planted land mines in Azerbaijani territory, not only during the 30-year-long occupation but also just days before leaving the Azerbaijani lands, as envisaged in the trilateral declaration to cause human casualties.
Civilians and military personnel are frequently maimed or killed as a result of mine explosions in Azerbaijan's liberated regions.
