Azerbaijan commemorates third anniversary of Armenian missile attack on Barda
In the run-up to the third anniversary of Azerbaijan’s glorious victory in the 44-day-long Second Karabakh War, on October 28, the triumphant nation marks the third anniversary of the shelling of Barda District – far from the theatre of military operations that resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians.
Three years have passed since another shelling of Barda by Armenia during the Second Karabakh War that lasted from September 27 to November 10, 2020.
Caliber.Az reminds that on October 28, 2020, at about 13:00, the Armenian armed forces, using cluster bombs prohibited by international law, fired at the city of Barda, located far from the frontline.
As a result of the strikes in an area with a high density of civilian movement and the presence of commercial facilities, 21 people were killed and 70 people were injured. Enormous damage was caused to civilian infrastructure and vehicles.
A day before it, on October 27, 2020, at about 16:00, the occupying armed forces of Armenia subjected the village of Garayusifli, Barda District, to shelling using heavy artillery. As a result, 5 civilians were killed and 13 people were injured.
During the Patriotic War - from September 27 to November 10, 2020 - on October 5, 8, 27, 28 and November 7, as a result of shelling of Barda District, using various types of weapons, missiles and prohibited cluster bombs, 29 residents were killed, 112 people were injured. Among the dead were two children, 8 women, 19 men.
