Azerbaijan constructing highway in Zangezur VIDEO
Azerbaijan's AzVirt company has unveiled new footage of the construction of the Goranboy–Jabrayil–Zangilan–Aghband highway (Zangezur Corridor), a 123.6-kilometre project the foundation of which was laid by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
The footage shows that this monumental construction is now in its final stages, Caliber.Az reports.
The road begins in Ahmadbayli village in the Fuzuli district and is being built in line with international standards for first-category highways.
The 77.5-kilometre section of the road features six lanes, while the remaining 46.1 kilometres are designed with four lanes. The roadbed width is 29.5 metres for the six-lane section and 21.5 metres for the four-lane portion. The road includes three vehicle tunnels with a total length of 6 kilometres, and asphalt concrete has already been laid on most sections. The road is expected to be completed in 2025.
The Goranboy–Jabrayil–Zangilan–Aghband highway, as part of the larger Hajiqabul–Goranboy–Aghband–Zangezur route, is of significant importance for the economic development of both Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.
