Azerbaijan demonstrating tourism opportunities in Türkiye PHOTO

The 27th East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT) has kicked off in Istanbul, Türkiye.

A national stand prepared by the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board is dedicated to Azerbaijan and its tourism potential at the exhibition, which opened on February 6, according to Azertac.

Azerbaijan at the EMITT 2024 exhibition, which will last until February 9, is represented by six travel companies, two hotel groups and Azerbaijan Airlines company. Visitors can obtain detailed information about tourism products and types of tourism in Azerbaijan, in particular, about gastro-tourism, winemaking, winter tourism, ski resorts, material cultural heritage, including the “Cultural landscape of Khinalig and the Nomadic Route” included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as business tourism opportunities. Moreover, B2B meetings are held with representatives of the tourism sector in Türkiye and other countries.

Besides Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Germany, Bulgaria, Brazil, Egypt, Iran, Japan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, also have exhibition stands.

Türkiye ranks second in the number of citizens of foreign countries who arrived in Azerbaijan in 2023. Some 378,204 tourists from Türkiye visited Azerbaijan in 2023, which is 19 per cent more than in 2019.

The EMITT annual international exhibition is one of the five leading exhibitions in the global tourism industry, where new opportunities for business and cooperation in the tourism sector are demonstrated.
