Azerbaijan discovers hundreds of monuments, thousand cultural institutions in liberated lands

Although the liberated territories are contaminated with landmines, the monitoring of the monuments still underway.

The remarks came from Azerbaijan’s Culture Minister, Anar Kerimov, on at an international conference in the city of Shusha on May 19, according to Report.

He noted that numerous historical and cultural monuments have already been discovered in those lands.

“We have discovered 404 of the 706 registered monuments. In addition, about 1,000 cultural institutions have been discovered in the liberated territories. After receiving the information, the monuments are classified and prioritized according to the degree of destruction and significance, Karimov said.

The minister pledged to restore and preserve the monuments based on international standards.
