Azerbaijan expanding medical, pharmaceutical ties with Egypt PHOTO

A meeting between Azerbaijani officials and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Azerbaijan Hisham Mohamed Nagy has been held at the Azerbaijani Health Ministry.

Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt for European Affairs Ihab Talaat Nasr also attended the meeting, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Health told Caliber.Az.

While welcoming the guests, Azerbaijani Minister of Health Teymur Musayev emphasised that diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt were established in 1992.

Noting the development of bilateral ties in many spheres, the minister added that cooperation between the two friendly countries in all spheres is exemplary.

Musayev said that cooperation with Egypt in health policy and public health is at the international level within cooperation among the health ministers of the World Health Organisation, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Non-Aligned Movement.

He expressed hope for the further successful development of cooperation.

In turn, Hisham Mohamed Nagy noted that Egypt attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral relations with Azerbaijan.

Highly appreciating the reforms which are carried out in Azerbaijan in the healthcare system, the ambassador emphasised the successful interaction between the two countries in the pharmaceutical sphere.

The new prospects for the development and strengthening of cooperation in healthcare and medical science were discussed during the meeting, which was held in the spirit of constructive dialogue and mutual understanding.

Moreover, discussions were held regarding the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation in pharmaceutics in the future.
