Azerbaijan foils Armenian plagiarism attempt on popular songs
Azerbaijan's Intellectual Property Agency has successfully combated an attempt by Armenian music artists to plagiarize Azerbaijani songs and falsely present them as their own original work.
The targeted musical pieces have been the song "İntizar" (Anticipation) by prominent Azerbaijani artist Elmira Rahimova and the song "Yeni İl" (New Year) by equally renowned Azerbaijani artist Brilliant Dadashova, both of which are recipients of state awards for their contribution to Azerbaijani culture, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
Both songs have been recorded by Armenian singers Artash Asatryan and Tigran Asatryan and published as their own original work on the Youtube platform.
Thanks to the measures taken by the agency, with technical support from the "Industry of Digital and Audiovisual Broadcasting" (RAYS) association, which manages the property rights of authors, performers, and producers of phonograms in digital networks, the falsely presented songs, "Ter Hisus Ari" (plagiarizing "İntizar") performed by Artash Asatryan and "Qez Hamar" (plagiarizing "Yeni il") by Tigran Asatryan have been successfully removed from YouTube.
