Azerbaijan, Georgia reaffirm strong ties in Baku meeting PHOTO
On November 11, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, met with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, in Baku.
President Aliyev extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Kobakhidze on the recent victory of the “Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia” Party in Georgia’s parliamentary elections. President Aliyev noted that the election results reflect the will of the Georgian people, wishing Kobakhidze continued success in his role, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Prime Minister Kobakhidze expressed his gratitude for the congratulatory remarks and highlighted the shared values and strong bonds uniting Azerbaijan and Georgia.
The discussions centred on the countries’ robust cooperation in political, economic, and transportation sectors. The leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining and strengthening these ties to benefit both nations and the broader region.
In a display of mutual respect, President Aliyev invited Prime Minister Kobakhidze to make an official visit to Azerbaijan, which the Georgian leader gladly accepted. Kobakhidze, in turn, extended an invitation for President Aliyev to visit Georgia, with the Azerbaijani President responding positively to the offer.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister Kobakhidze shared his thoughts on the discussions via the social media platform X, stating: “I had the honor of meeting with President Ilham Aliyev. We held productive discussions on global issues, the regional dynamics, and areas for further collaboration. I reaffirmed Georgia’s dedication to standing as a trusted partner to Azerbaijan in promoting security, peace, and stability in our region.”
