Azerbaijan–ICESCO cooperation further develops, reaches new level — minister
Azerbaijani Minister of Culture Adil Karimli has said that Azerbaijan–ICESCO cooperation has further developed and reached a new level under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership and with the support of the First Vice-President and ICESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva.
The minister spoke about Azerbaijan’s cooperation with ICESCO, and emphasised the special importance of developing these relations for the country during the third meeting of the National Commission of Azerbaijan for the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Baku, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture.
Karimli, who is also the Chair of the Commission, noted that developing relations with ICESCO is of special importance for Azerbaijan. This cooperation strengthens the country’s position in the Islamic world, promotes its model of multiculturalism and tolerance, and further enhances the effectiveness of its humanitarian and cultural diplomacy at the international level.
He emphasised that Azerbaijan provides ongoing support for the Organization’s activities. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation also plays a special role in Azerbaijan’s relations with ICESCO. Within the framework of cooperation between the Foundation and ICESCO, various projects and events have been implemented.
Karimli also said that there are plans to further expand joint activities in the coming years.
