Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan discuss plans to create digital currency

Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) Taleh Kazimov has said that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan discussed the creation of a digital currency.

“We met with Governor at the National Bank of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Pirmatov as part of a working trip to Kazakhstan today. We discussed future spheres of cooperation between the central banks of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan during the meeting,” Caliber.Az reports citing Kazimov’s report on Twitter.

“The current macroeconomic situation, the impact of global economic processes on the country's economy, the improvement of monetary policy tools, the development of payment systems, the creation of a digital currency and other issues were discussed at the meeting,” Kazimov tweeted.
