Azerbaijan, Morocco explore closer cultural ties
Azerbaijan and Morocco have discussed ways to deepen cultural cooperation during a meeting in Rabat between Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Morocco, Nazim Samadov, and the Director of the National Library of the Kingdom, Samira El-Malizi.
According to Azerbaijan’s embassy, both sides underlined the importance of expanding cultural links, including through participation in joint cultural events, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
El-Malizi accepted an invitation to visit Azerbaijan and confirmed her attendance at the 11th Baku International Book Fair, scheduled to take place from October 1 to 7.
Officials expect the visit to strengthen institutional ties between the two countries’ cultural organisations.
As part of the exchange, the director of the National Library of Morocco said she would donate books and manuscript copies reflecting Morocco’s cultural heritage to Azerbaijan’s National Library.
She also expressed interest in increasing the number of publications about Azerbaijan in the Moroccan library’s collection, and voiced hope that an Azerbaijani delegation would take part in the next Rabat International Book Fair.
