Azerbaijan resettles 12 people in Aghdara village under return programme
Two families comprising 12 people have returned to the village of Ashaghy Oratag in Aghdara district of Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan’s ongoing resettlement programme in territories reclaimed in recent years.
The returnees were handed the keys to newly allocated homes by Sabukhi Gahramanov, deputy special representative of the president for Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, together with Mahmud Efendiyev, deputy head of the regional restoration and management service, according to the authorities, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Officials from the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) also briefed the families on safety procedures in areas where demining operations are still under way.
Earlier, authorities said 18 families, or 68 people, had returned to Khankendi as part of the same resettlement programme.
