Azerbaijan's highway project in Karabakh takes first place worldwide PHOTO / VIDEO
Spokesman for the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads Anar Najafli has announced that Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha highway project has been awarded first place globally.
“This highway project was selected as the winner in the ‘Innovative Construction Methodology’ category at the ‘Regional Award for Outstanding Achievements in Europe and Central Asia – 2024’, presented by the International Road Federation,” he told Caliber.Az.
The award ceremony was held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria on September 26, where the State Agency was represented by Head of the Foreign Investments Department of the Main Investment Office Emin Mammadzade.
The ongoing road infrastructure projects in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions include the construction of 45 road tunnels with a total length of 69.1 kilometres, as well as over 463 bridges, viaducts, and overpasses spanning approximately 13.4 kilometres. The Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha highway, categorised as Class I, stretches for 81.7 kilometres and features 11 bridges, 7 tunnels, and 9 viaducts.
