16 December 2025 20:13

The Presidential Library of Azerbaijan hosted the presentation ceremony of the book “Revival of Karabakh: The Story of Azerbaijan’s Renaissance”, commissioned by the Karabakh Revival Fund.

The event began with the performance of the National Anthem, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Motherland, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Thereafter, Head of the Fundraising and Communications Department of the Karabakh Revival Fund Parvin Baghirova delivered welcoming remarks.

In her opening address, Director of the Presidential Library, Professor Afat Abbasova, highlighted the scientific, historical, and public significance of the publication. She emphasized that the book offers a comprehensive presentation of Karabakh’s rich past, its struggle for liberation, and the post-conflict reconstruction process to an international audience.

Following this, a video presentation titled “From Tragedy to Victory”, reflecting the reconstruction and revival of the liberated territories, was screened.

The Chairman of the Executive Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund, Rahman Hajiyev, delivered a speech and provided detailed information on the significance of the book and its preparation process. It was noted that the publication not only comprehensively presents the history of Karabakh, its liberation, and the reconstruction process, but also brings together text, photographs, interviews with officials and experts, as well as the memories of people displaced from their native lands.

As part of the event, a video presentation of the book “Revival of Karabakh: The Story of Azerbaijan’s Renaissance” was featured.

Subsequently, the author of the book, British writer Graeme Wilson, delivered a speech, discussing the idea behind the publication, the research conducted for its preparation, and the book’s conceptual approach.

This approximately 500-page book conveys the history of Karabakh’s revival in a multidimensional and systematic manner by presenting a synthesis of text, photographs, and interactive digital materials.

Speakers at the event — Rector of the Baku Music Academy and member of the Supervisory Board of the Karabakh Revival Fund Farhad Badalbayli; Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center Ravan Hasanov; Chairman of the Azerbaijan Press Council Rashad Majid; and Adviser to the Director of the Presidential Library, PhD in History Nazim Mustafa, Deputy Director of the Institute of History and Ethnology of ANAS, PhD in History Ilgar Niftaliyev — emphasized that the publication is an important source that provides an objective and systematic presentation of Karabakh’s complex historical path, the Victory achieved, and the large-scale reconstruction efforts carried out in the region following the restoration of sovereignty.

At the conclusion of the event, the Karabakh Revival Fund’s “Donation Certificate” was presented to Ilgar Nuri, Deputy Group CEO for Corporate Functions and member of the Executive Committee of the Veyseloglu Group of Companies, in recognition of the donation of Graeme Wilson’s books — “Revival of Karabakh: The Story of Azerbaijan’s Renaissance,” “Azerbaijan Democratic Republic: A Dream That Never Died,” and “Ilham: Portrait of a President” — to the Presidential Library, made with the support of the Veyseloglu Group of Companies.
