Azerbaijan, Serbia hold political consultations in Baku
Baku hosted multilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Serbia on 3 February, focusing on bilateral cooperation and regional and global developments.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, while Serbia was represented by State Secretary Nevena Jovanović, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the consultations included an exchange of views on the two countries’ foreign policy priorities amid shifting geopolitical realities, as well as on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
The sides also discussed cooperation within the framework of their strategic partnership, covering political dialogue, economic ties, energy security, transport connectivity, climate action, and other areas of engagement in multilateral formats.
Special attention was paid to expanding cooperation with key regional and global partners, strengthening coordination on international platforms, and providing mutual support for initiatives and candidacies within international organisations.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of continued mutual support on foreign policy issues of principled importance to Azerbaijan and Serbia within multilateral frameworks.
