Azerbaijan shoots film about legendary Ahmadiyya Jabrayilov
The "Azerbaijanfilm" movie company has shot a film about the legendary Azerbaijani fighter, participant of the French Resistance movement, Ahmadiyya Jabrayilov.
The film titled "He was Hargo" was produced at the "Salnamafilm" studio, Report quotes the company as saying.
The role of the protagonist in the film was performed by national actor Igbal Aliyev.
The shooting of the film, using many archival materials, took place in the cities of Baku, Shaki and Khachmaz in Azerbaijan, and the French cities of Paris and Montauban.
The premiere of the "He was Khargo" film will take place on May 6 at 19:00 at the "Nizami" cinema center in Baku.
Ahmadiyya is known as the “Azerbaijani friend” of the former French president Charles de Gaulle. The “Khargo” nickname is believed to be given him by Maurice Thorez, then Secretary General of the French Communist Party. He was awarded the “National Hero of France” medal for his contributions to the French Resistance Movement.
