Azerbaijan's vibrant tourism sector took centre stage at the prestigious ITB Berlin exhibition, held on March 5-7 in the German capital.

Organized by the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau, the Azerbaijani delegation, comprising 14 key industry partners including Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, hotels, and travel companies, presented the country's rich cultural heritage and diverse tourism offerings to a global audience, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azertag.

According to reports from the State Tourism Agency, the Azerbaijani pavilion showcased the nation's tourism potential through immersive experiences, engaging presentations, and interactive displays. Visitors had the opportunity to explore Azerbaijan's history, cultural landmarks listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and savour the flavors of its renowned national cuisine, while also learning about unique practices such as Slow Food and Slow Wine.

In addition to traditional presentations, Azerbaijan stood out by offering visitors a cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) experience, allowing them to embark on virtual tours of the country's scenic landscapes and historical sites. The use of VR technology provided an innovative way for attendees to immerse themselves in the beauty and diversity of Azerbaijan's tourism destinations.

The participation of Azerbaijani companies at ITB Berlin facilitated valuable networking opportunities, with meetings held in a business-to-business (B2B) format enabling discussions on potential collaborations with representatives from the global tourism industry. These interactions served to strengthen Azerbaijan's position as an attractive destination for international travellers and fostered partnerships for future tourism initiatives.

The Azerbaijani pavilion garnered significant attention during the exhibition, attracting distinguished guests including Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Germany Nasimi Agayev, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili, and President and CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council Julia Simpson. Their presence underscored the importance of Azerbaijan's tourism sector on the global stage and highlighted the country's commitment to promoting sustainable tourism development.

As Azerbaijan continues to position itself as a leading tourist destination, its successful participation at ITB Berlin serves as a testament to the country's growing prominence in the global tourism market and its dedication to showcasing its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty to the world.
