Azerbaijan will begin construction of Lachin-Kalbajar Internet backbone line soon.
“Construction of the Lachin-Kalbajar Internet backbone line is expected to begin in Azerbaijan soon,” Acting director general of Aztelecom LLC Tural Pirverdiyev said live on ASAN Radio.
Aztelecom LLC is owned by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
Pirverdiyev said that the construction of the Khojaly-Khankendi backbone Internet line has begun.
“A prefix has already been assigned to Khojaly city. Residents who will be resettled there in accordance with the action plan within the State Great Return Programme will be provided with high-speed optical Internet,” he said.
He noted that the first Internet phone number was presented in Khankendi.
“The state and private organisations operating there have been provided with the Internet. The necessary equipment has been installed to provide subscribers with broadband Internet in the future. Some 500 households in Shusha city and 1,246 households in Lachin city received access to broadband Internet,” he added.
