Azerbaijan, UAE discuss cooperation within COP29 PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf have met with Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei to discuss economic relations, implementation of green energy projects, investment opportunities for expansion of joint activities and cooperation areas within the COP29.
It was emphasized that based on the principles of mutual friendship and respect the relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE are at a high level, and the political will of the heads of state plays an important role in strengthening cooperation between the two countries. Expansion of partnership in the spheres of trade and economy, investments, logistics and other areas was pointed out at the meeting. Azerbaijan was described as the key initiator and participant of a number of projects on production and export of renewable energy in the region. The importance of Azerbaijan’s successful cooperation with Masdar in the field of green energy from the point of view of energy security was underlined, Caliber.Az reports citing the Ministry of Economy.
The significance and contribution of Azerbaijan to the regional partnership was noted at the meeting. Azerbaijan effectively cooperates with the member states of the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) on various platforms.
The country's favorable geographical location at the crossroads of important transport corridors and the expansion of transit potential open wide opportunities for investors. Realization of joint projects with UAE entrepreneurs who have taken advantage of these opportunities can contribute to further expansion of regional cooperation.
The sides discussed strengthening partnership, implementation of joint initiatives in the field of green energy and other areas, as well as exchange of experience within the COP29.
