Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia have inked several memoranda of cooperation aimed at deepening bilateral relations across a range of sectors, following the 8th session of the Joint Commission between the two nations, held in Riyadh.

The session was co-chaired by Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The high-level meeting underscored the strengthening of economic and strategic ties between Baku and Riyadh.

In advance of the plenary session, the two co-chairs held a bilateral meeting to discuss ongoing projects and new avenues for partnership. The discussions culminated in the signing of multiple memorandas of cooperation, marking a significant step in the diversification and institutionalization of relations between the two countries.

Among the signed documents were agreements on the mutual recognition of seafarers' certificates, cooperation in plant protection and quarantine, and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These agreements are expected to facilitate professional mobility, enhance agricultural trade safety, and foster innovation and entrepreneurship within the SME sector.

Additionally, both sides signed the official minutes of the commission meeting, reflecting the outcomes of their discussions and outlining a roadmap for future engagement.
