Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with key strategic partners shows growth in Q1 2025
Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with its key strategic partners, including Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, reached $395.365 million in the first quarter of 2025.
This represents a significant 28.3% increase compared to the same period last year, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee's latest report.
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan saw a remarkable 67.6% increase, amounting to $118.745 million in Q1 2025. Exports from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan totalled $20.610 million, a rise of 72.5%, while imports from Kazakhstan stood at $98.135 million, up by 66.7%.
In contrast, Azerbaijan's trade with Belarus experienced a slight decline, with turnover reaching $101.618 million, marking a 2.7% decrease year-on-year. Despite this, exports surged by 1.8 times, totalling $17.234 million, while imports decreased by 11.1%, totalling $84.383 million.
Azerbaijan's trade turnover with Uzbekistan saw an impressive growth of 2.7 times, reaching $97.291 million. Exports to Uzbekistan amounted to $9.659 million, up by 64%, while imports from Uzbekistan increased by 2.9 times, totalling $87.631 million.
Trade turnover with Turkmenistan, however, experienced a decline of 19.8%, reaching $77.710 million in Q1 2025. Exports from Azerbaijan stood at $13.100 million, down by 22.9%, while imports decreased by 19.2%, totalling $64.610 million.
