Azerbaijan, UAE strengthen comprehensive strategic partnership framework
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held talks on Wednesday, February 4, in Abu Dhabi with the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az that the discussions covered the political, economic, trade, energy, and humanitarian dimensions of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. The sides also reviewed cooperation within regional and international organisations and exchanged views on the current security situation in the region.
The ministers highlighted the crucial role of reciprocal visits by the heads of state, as well as the agreements and documents signed during those visits, in raising bilateral relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
They examined the implementation of decisions adopted at the first meeting of the Cooperation Committee on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which took place in November last year. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the preparatory work underway for the second committee meeting, scheduled to be held in Baku later this year.
The importance of continuing mutual support within regional and international organisations was underscored.
During the meeting, Bayramov informed his counterpart about the peace agenda following the Washington summit on August 8.
The positive dynamics of Azerbaijan-UAE relations were highly praised, and possible measures to further facilitate travel for citizens of both countries were discussed in this context.
The ministers also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
