Azerbaijani, Armenian chess players to compete in final round of 2022 Sinquefield Cup
The 2022 Sinquefield Cup, in which Azerbaijani chess player Shahriyar Mammadyarov is taking part, is coming to an end in St Louis, US.
Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Alireza Firouzja (both from France), Wesley So, Fabiano Caruana, Leinier Dominguez, Levon Aronian, Hans Niemann (all from the US) and Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia) are involved in the tournament, which is the last stage of the Grand Chess Tour, according to azerisport.com.
Norwegian chess player Magnus Carlsen was also competing, however, after three rounds he withdrew from the 2022 Sinquefield Cup and his results were annulled.
Mammadyarov will compete with Aronian in the final round.
