Azerbaijani canoeist wins European Masters gold in Portugal PHOTO

An Azerbaijani canoeist has claimed gold at the Canoe Sprint European Championships in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal, winning the men’s single canoe 500-metre event in the Masters 35–39 category.

Bogdan Kurudz secured the European title after finishing ahead of his rivals in a tightly contested final, delivering a dominant performance on the water, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The competition is being held in Portugal, with athletes from across the continent taking part in multiple age and discipline categories.

Kurudz represented Azerbaijan and reached the top step of the podium in the Masters division, which features experienced competitors aged between 35 and 39.

He is also scheduled to compete in the 200-metre single canoe event on June 13.
