Japan secure dominant 4–0 win over Tunisia at World Cup 2026

21 June 2026 10:30

The Japan national football team delivered a convincing 4–0 victory over the Tunisia national football team in their second Group F match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The match, played at Estadio BBVA in Guadalupe, Mexico, saw Japan open the scoring as early as the 4th minute through a precise finish from Daichi Kamada. The advantage was doubled in the 31st minute when Ayase Ueda found the net, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

After the break, Japan maintained full control of the game. Junya Ito added a third goal in the 69th minute, before Ueda completed his brace in the 83rd minute to seal the emphatic result.

Under head coach Hajime Moriyasu, Japan now have four points from two matches after drawing 2–2 with the Netherlands in their opening fixture. Tunisia, who had previously lost 5–1 to Sweden, suffered a second consecutive defeat, leaving them without a point and eliminating their chances of advancing to the next round.

The top two teams from each group, along with the eight best third-placed sides, will qualify for the knockout stage.
