Azerbajian to host 32nd European Gymnastics Congress
Azerbaijan will host the 32nd European Gymnastics Congress in 2027, an event that will be held in Baku on December 10–11, 2027, the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation has stated.
Officials said it will be the first time Baku hosts such a conference, which will bring together representatives of 50 national federations from across the continent, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
They said the congress is expected to become one of the key meetings in the European Gymnastics calendar.
Delegates will discuss the development of the sport, the organisation of future competitions, governance issues, and strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening gymnastics in Europe.
In recent years, Baku has established itself as one of the international hubs for gymnastics, regularly hosting European and world championships in artistic, rhythmic, aerobic, acrobatic gymnastics and trampoline disciplines.
Hosting the European Gymnastics Congress is seen as further confirmation of Azerbaijan’s strong standing in the international gymnastics community.
Since 2017, the president of European Gymnastics has been Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov.
