Azerbaijan shows combat readiness in live-fire drill, monitored by top defence officials VIDEO
As part of the 2025 training plan, the Azerbaijani Army carried out a live-fire tactical exercise simulating real combat conditions, closely monitored by Defence Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and senior officials of the Defence Ministry.
The exercise focused on modern combat techniques and integrated a new operational concept, ensuring that the military is prepared for contemporary warfare, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
A key component of the exercise involved the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for reconnaissance. These UAVs provided real-time data about the location of enemy targets and the movement of armored vehicles, with information being transmitted directly to the battle control center. This allowed for precise and timely decision-making.
The scenario of the exercise saw artillery units and aircraft strike the enemy’s assembled reserves and personnel before the offensive began. The military also demonstrated its ability to clear pathways through minefields, ensuring safe passage for troops and vehicles.
Helicopter evacuations were carried out to rescue military personnel, while enemy convoys were ambushed and neutralized. Key strongholds were also captured as part of the exercise’s objectives. The primary goal of this tactical exercise was to enhance commanders’ decision-making skills in accordance with the new operational concept. The exercise also aimed to refine the management of military units, ensure interoperability, and strengthen both theoretical and practical skills in modern combat.
