Azerbaijani border guards thwart another drug smuggling from Iran PHOTO
Within the framework of measures to ensure reliable protection of state border and fight illicit drug trafficking, officers of the border detachments "Goradiz" and "Goytepe" of the State Border Service Border Troops prevented the smuggling of 18 kg 610 grams of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan.
As a result of the operational search activities carried out on February 2 at 11:45 in the official territory of the border outpost located near the village of Deman Yardymli district, a package with 3 kg 310 g of narcotic drugs (3 kg 210 g of marijuana and 100 g of opium) was found and seized, State Border Service told Caliber.Az.
On February 3 at 03:50, 2 packages of marijuana with a total weight of 15 kg 300 g were found and seized at the border outpost located near the village of Gazakhlar in the Fuzuli district.
Operational and investigative measures are continuing on both facts.
