Azerbaijani companies taking part in Russia’s exhibition

05 February 2024 19:34

The 31st International Exhibition for Food, Beverages and Food Raw Materials - PRODEXPO-2024 has kicked off at the Expocentre Central Exhibition Complex in Russia’s capital Moscow.

Some 28 companies are showcasing their products at Azerbaijan’s national stand, according to Azertac.

PRODEXPO is one of the ten biggest food exhibitions in the world. Some 2,145 companies from 40 countries, including Azerbaijan, are taking part in the exhibition, organised thanks to the support of the Russian Agriculture Ministry and under the patronage of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Deputy Executive Director of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO) Tural Hajili said that 28 Azerbaijani companies are showcasing their products at the Made in Azerbaijan national stand this year.

“The companies operating in various spheres, namely, the food industry, the packaging sector, the agricultural sector, as well as producers of wine, fruits and vegetables, etc., are participating in the exhibition this year. Azerbaijan has recently seen growth in the non-oil sector. A growth of nearly 10 per cent - $3.3 billion was observed last year compared to the previous year. This year we expect an increase in exports of goods to the Russian market, as well as to other countries,” he said.

Hajili emphasised that Azerbaijan’s stand at the exhibition aroused great interest. As a result of negotiations with the organisers of the exhibition, an agreement was reached to create a separate stand in further years, where Azerbaijani viticulture products and alcoholic beverages will be showcased.
