Azerbaijani heavyweight reaches youth World Cup semi-finals

Pontevedra (Spain) hosts Youth Wrestling World Championships (U-23).

According to azerisport.com, Azerbaijan freestyle wrestlers Tofik Aliyev (57 kg), Kenan Heybatov (70 kg), Ashraf Ashirov (79 kg), and Islam Ilyasov (97 kg) entered the competition on the fifth day of the tournament.

Ilyasov advanced to the semi-finals. Heybatov lost in the quarterfinals, while Aliyev and Ashirov lost at the start. In the evening Nigar Mirzazade (65kg) will fight the final bout.

So far, Azerbaijan has three (1-2-0) medals in the World Cup.
