Azerbaijani judokas win five medals on first day of European Cup

The Azerbaijani judo team won one gold and four bronze medals on the first day of the European Cadet Cup in Zagreb.

At once three of our athletes distinguished themselves in the weight up to 55 kg: Mirkhalig Iskandarov became the champion, and Hasan Hasanli and Farid Garayev took third places. Akhmed Rustamov (50 kg) and Umid Kurbanov (60 kg) also won bronze, azerisport.com reports.

Judokas from 35 countries participate in the competition.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijani taekwondo athletes successfully perform at the Dutch Open Championship in Eindhoven.

Rakhit Valiyev (54 kg) and Hashim Magomedov (58 kg) became champions, and Yashar Mammadli (68 kg) lost in the final. (FTA)
