2030 World Cup final to be held in Morocco, official claims

The 2030 FIFA World Cup final will be held at a new stadium near Casablanca, the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (RMFF), Fouzi Lekjaa, has said.

Speaking at an event held as part of an election campaign in the city of Bouznika, he stated that the Benslimane Province will have the honour of hosting the 2030 World Cup final, Caliber.Az reports, citing EFE.

“Anyone who wants to be part of the future government has no choice but to develop this province,” Lekjaa noted.

A 115,000-seat Hassan II Stadium is being built in El Mansouria, east of Casablanca. It is set to become the world’s largest football stadium.

FIFA has not officially announced the venue for the final.

In August, it also denied a Times report claiming that FIFA President Gianni Infantino had promised Morocco the tournament’s decisive match in exchange for its support in the upcoming FIFA presidential election.

Morocco, Portugal and Spain are due to host the majority of matches at the 2030 World Cup, while three additional games will be played in Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has previously said that Spain should host the final.
