Azerbaijani minister: Karabakh University to welcome 1,400 new students in historic admission boost
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev has said that Karabakh University is set to admit between 1,300 and 1,400 new students for the upcoming academic year, a significant step in expanding higher education opportunities in the region.
The announcement was made during an award ceremony for the winners of the “Best Presentation” competition, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The minister emphasised that this new intake will bring the total number of students at the university to around 2,500, highlighting the institution's growing role in the educational landscape of Azerbaijan.
In addition to developments in higher education, Amrullayev shared plans for a second secondary school to be built in Khankendi, further enhancing the city’s educational infrastructure.
He also reflected on the improvements made in the region’s schools, noting that Secondary School #4 in Khankendi, named after Nizami Ganjavi, was fully renovated last year, providing students with a more modern learning environment.
