Another 15 residents launch small businesses in Azerbaijan’s liberated lands
Another 15 residents of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories have launched small businesses as part of the country’s ongoing self-employment programme aimed at supporting former internally displaced people (IDPs).
The latest group of beneficiaries includes residents from Aghdam, Khojaly, Lachin, Aghdara districts, and the city of Shusha. These individuals were provided with essential goods and equipment to help establish a variety of small enterprises, including animal husbandry, flour production, sewing workshops, beauty salons, and photography studios, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
A handover ceremony was held with the participation of representatives from the State Employment Agency and officials from the special representative office of the President of Azerbaijan in Khankendi, Aghdara, and Khojaly districts.
During the event, discussions were held with the new entrepreneurs regarding their future business plans and opportunities for further development.
This brings the total number of former IDPs who have launched small businesses under the self-employment programme to 460.
The self-employment initiative is a key component of the broader “Great Return” programme, which seeks to facilitate the reintegration and economic revitalisation of regions affected by past conflict.
