Azerbaijani navy attends underwater rescue drills in eastern Mediterranean
A group of Azerbaijani Navy servicemen participated in the underwater search and rescue exercises Kurtaran-2024 (Rescuer-2024) held in the Eastern Mediterranean, as reported by Caliber.Az citing the Defense Ministry.
During the exercises, search and rescue vessels conducted operations to locate a sunken submarine using robots, assess its condition, and deliver food and medical supplies to the crew via divers. The crew was also rescued using specialized equipment.
Additionally, the exercises included dropping essential supplies from airplanes to a distressed vessel on the water's surface and parachute jumps into the sea for crew evacuation, all performed with exceptional professionalism.
Fifty-two representatives from 17 countries participated in the international exercises Kurtaran-2024.
