Azerbaijani ombudsman to publish report on mass grave discovered in Balligaya PHOTO
A fact-finding mission from the Office of the Ombudsman of Azerbaijan has conducted an investigation in the village of Balligaya in the Aghdara district, where the remains of more than ten people—believed to be Azerbaijani servicemen—were recently discovered.
According to the Ombudsman’s Office, a detailed report based on the findings from the site will be prepared and shared with both the public and international organisations.
“The collection of information about the fate of all missing persons and ensuring the right of their families to know the truth is required under international humanitarian law,” the statement said.
“The Ombudsman of Azerbaijan is taking relevant measures and carrying out fact-finding missions to help restore human rights violated as a result of Armenia’s war crimes.”
