Azerbaijani Speaker, British MP discuss region, ties with UK

Azerbaijani Speaker Sahiba Gafarova has met a delegation led by the visiting head of the UK-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group, Bob Blackman.

Gafarova highly appreciated the delegation's visit, the Azerbaijani parliament's press and PR department told APA.

The speaker told the guests about the new situation in the region after Azerbaijan liberated its lands from occupation, Azerbaijan’s peaceful initiatives, shared views on the prospects for the development of inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries, stressed the role of the friendship group in this sphere.

Blackman expressed gratification with the meetings and negotiations held during his visit to Azerbaijan.

The guest shared impressions of visiting liberated Aghdam, highly appreciated the ongoing construction processes in the territories liberated from occupation, and expressed an opinion on the regional situation.
