Military personnel from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan are participating in joint military exercises in Kazakhstan's Mangystau region.
Named Birlestik-2024, these international exercises are being held from July 8 to July 17, Caliber.Az reports citing the Kazakh media.
The exercises are occurring at the Oymasha training ground and in the offshore area near Cape Tokmak. Military personnel from the five countries is collaborating on a joint operation aimed at "localizing the armed conflict."
Approximately 4,000 soldiers are participating in the exercises, utilizing up to 700 units of military equipment. The participants include ground and air reconnaissance units, naval special forces, artillery crews, assault and tank units, as well as aviation and naval vessels, all practicing techniques for conflict localisation.
The exercises focus on enhancing regional cooperation and interoperability among the participating countries' military forces. Birlestik-2024 aims to improve readiness and capabilities through joint operations, including ground and air reconnaissance, naval special forces, artillery, assault and tank units, aviation, and naval vessels. The exercises underscore the commitment to bolstering regional security and preparedness through collaborative military training and operations.
