Azerbaijani, Turkish defence ministers discuss intensifying joint drills PHOTO
Azerbaijani Defence Minister Col-Gen Zakir Hasanov met with Turkish National Defence Minister Yashar Guler in Baku on November 27.
During the meeting, Hasanov noted that the strategic alliance and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in military and other spheres is based on friendly and brotherly relations, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
Hasanov emphasized that the presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, highly value the partnership and prospects in the defence sector between the two countries, and noted the need for such meetings from the viewpoint of further expanding bilateral ties.
For his part, Guler expressed confidence that Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation, based on mutual trust and support, will continue to develop successfully.
They noted the role of the Shusha Declaration on Allied Relations (signed between Azerbaijan and Türkiye on June 15, 2021) in the development of the Azerbaijani-Turkish alliance.
In addition, the parties shared views on the importance of increasing the intensity of joint exercises, military-political processes taking place in the region and the world as a whole.
The minister also discussed the ways to ensure regional stability, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
