Envoy: Caracas looks to boost tourism, trade and energy ties with Baku
Venezuelan Minister of Tourism Leticia Gómez Hernández is scheduled to visit Azerbaijan on an official trip in mid-June, according to Venezuela’s Ambassador to Baku, Christopher Alberto Martínez Berroterán.
Speaking to local media, the ambassador emphasised that the visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties in the tourism sector, per Caliber.Az.
“To develop relations in the field of tourism, we are expecting the visit of our Minister of Tourism in mid-June. She will come to Azerbaijan to further discuss and implement joint initiatives in the context of tourism exchange between our countries,” Martínez Berroterán said.
The ambassador also noted ongoing cooperation between Venezuela and Azerbaijan on environmental issues. “We continue to collaborate and work hand in hand with Azerbaijan in addressing the challenges posed by climate change,” he stated.
Martínez Berroterán further highlighted that Caracas is keen to expand cooperation with Baku beyond tourism. He stressed that Venezuela is interested in developing partnerships in the areas of trade and energy, as well as within the framework of South-South cooperation — a model of collaboration among developing countries to promote shared growth and mutual benefit.
