Baku, Manama hold discussions on multifaceted cooperation, situation in Middle East PHOTO
On May 12, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, during his official visit to Bahrain.
The meeting focused on the current state and prospects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as the regional and international situation, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Foreign Ministry's website.
Bayramov expressed his gratitude to the Bahraini side for the warm reception and hoped that his visit would contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides noted the well-established political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Bahrain and emphasised the importance of further developing relations in areas such as the economy, trade, investment, tourism, logistics, and information and communication technologies.
In 2026, the two countries will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. In this regard, the parties underscored the importance of continuing to adhere to the principles that have guided their bilateral relations over the past 30 years.
During the meeting, the parties also shared their thoughts on other issues of mutual interest.
In a separate one-on-one meeting between Bayramov and Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the ongoing developments in the Middle East region were discussed in detail.
Both sides welcomed the fact that next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Bahrain.
They emphasised the importance of the mutually beneficial cooperation developed over the years across various sectors, as well as the mutual support and solidarity demonstrated by the two countries on multilateral platforms.
Bayramov and Al Zayani stressed the need to make full use of existing potential to further expand ties, to increase high-level visits and meetings, and to hold regular political consultations between their foreign ministries.
They also highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investment, tourism, high technologies, education, and the humanitarian sphere.
