Azerbaijani vocalist wins international opera contest in New York PHOTO

Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre's soloist, laureate of republican and international contests Urfan Jafarov has won a gold medal at the international contest of opera singers “American International Vocal Competition of Opera Singers 2023” in New York.

Thus, he ranked first among representatives of 67 countries, Azertag informs.

He became the first Azerbaijani to represent his country with a solo performance in Carnegie Hall, one of the most famous concert halls in the world. As a winner of the competition, Jafarov received a prestigious certificate for his solo concert.

The American International Vocal Competition of Opera Singers is one of the platforms that allow young singers to perform a solo concert on a prestigious stage.
