Bangladesh earthquake: Death toll rises to 10, over 200 injured
At least 10 people have died and more than 200 were injured after a magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck Bangladesh on the morning of November 21, with the epicentre in Madhabdi, Narsingdi, according to Bangladeshi newspaper Dhaka Tribune.
Dhaka: 4 deaths, including three pedestrians in Armanitola when a building railing collapsed and a security guard in Mugda. Around 66 people were treated in hospitals.
Narsingdi: 5 deaths, including a father and son from Chinishpur Union; 58 people received treatment, some critical.
Narayanganj: 1 death, a 10-month-old infant after a wall collapse; mother and another injured.
Gazipur: Over 150 workers injured in a stampede at a garment factory.
The government has activated emergency control rooms, directed rapid damage assessment, and urged the public to seek help if needed. Many injuries were reportedly caused by panic during the tremor.
