Brazilian president to send his personal assistant to Ukraine
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has instructed his special assistant on international affairs, Celso Amorim, to travel to Ukraine. The date of the trip has not yet been set.
According to Gazeta.ru, the head of the general secretariat of the administration of the head of state, Marcio Macedo, made the announcement on Twitter.
"President Lula has made a decision and instructed me to inform that Special Assistant on International Affairs, former Foreign Minister Celso Amorim will visit Ukraine," he wrote.
Earlier, the Brazilian leader suggested that a G20 analogue be set up to negotiate a solution to the Ukrainian conflict. He said that during the 2008 crisis, the G20 was created to save the global economy. The Brazilian president believes that another G20 needs to be created today in order "to end the war and establish peace".
