Britain imposes sanctions on Iran

The British government has decided to impose sanctions on the Iranian space agency and six Iranian military leaders, Caliber.Az reports, citing the UK government website.

The restrictions, which imply a ban on entry to the UK and the freezing of assets if they are discovered, include the commander-in-chief of the Iranian army, Lt-Gen Abdulrahim Mousavi, Brig-Gen Mohammad Hossein Dadras, the commander of the Iranian Air Force, Brig-Gen Hamid Vahedi, the head of the intelligence service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (elite units of the Iranian Armed Forces) Mohammad Kazemi, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari and Brig-Gen Ali-Mohammad Naini.

The British authorities motivated their decision by the fact that these military commanders ‘engaged in activities aimed at undermining the welfare or security of Israel’.

In addition, restrictive measures were imposed against the Iranian design bureau Farzanegan and its chief engineer Hossein Pourfarzaneh. London believes that this company is involved in ‘hostile activities of the Iranian government.’
