Bucharest denounces Russia's attack on Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Kyiv
Romania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a strong condemnation of the shelling of the Azerbaijani Embassy building in Kyiv.
According to Caliber.Az, the statement was published on the Romanian Foreign Ministry’s official X account.
"Romania strongly condemns the shelling of the building of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Kyiv during last night attack of Russian aggressor forces. Irresponsible act and gross violation of the Vienna Convention. Premises of diplomatic missions are inviolable. Full solidarity with Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and our Azerbaijani colleagues," the post stated.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that debris from an Iskander missile aimed at Kyiv had struck the Azerbaijani Embassy.
He noted that around 430 drones and 18 missiles—including ballistic and aeroballistic types—were used in the attack, which damaged numerous residential buildings in the capital and hit several other regions.
Following the attack, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a phone call with President Zelenskyy, during which he condemned the attack on Azerbaijan’s diplomatic mission in Kyiv and expressed solidarity with Ukraine.
