Bulgaria says it supports Azerbaijan as host of COP29 climate summit

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has said that Bulgaria supports Azerbaijan as the host of the COP29 climate summit.

Russia vetoed the candidacies of all countries from the European Union to host the COP29 summit next year, he said, Report informs.

Therefore, the only way out was to withdraw our candidacies in favour of Azerbaijan to host the next meeting.

"Only the candidacies of Azerbaijan and Armenia remained. And we are very happy that Azerbaijan will be the hostess of the next COP. We support Azerbaijan," he said.
