Dagestan bans publication of data on terror attacks, air defence operations
Authorities in Russia’s Republic of Dagestan have introduced a ban on publishing information related to terrorist attacks, drone strikes, and the activities of the Russian Defence Ministry, according to an order signed by regional head Sergey Melikov.
The decree prohibits the dissemination of photos, videos, and other materials in the media or messaging platforms that reveal the consequences of terrorist acts or acts of sabotage, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press service of the government.
The restrictions extend to any details concerning unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the region, including their type, launch sites, crash locations, flight paths, and the damage caused. The ban also covers information about the work of Russia’s air defence and electronic warfare systems.
Additionally, the order forbids the sharing of data about the locations of air defence installations and other critical infrastructure, such as bridges, energy facilities, communication systems, and industrial sites.
The move comes amid heightened security concerns in Russia’s southern regions, which have seen an uptick in drone activity and attacks in recent months.
