Date of presidential summit between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Turkmenistan announced
The date for the trilateral presidential summit between Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Turkmenistan leaders has been set for December 13 to 14.
As Caliber.Az reports referring to information published by the Turkmen state news agency TDH, Presidents Aliyev, Erdogan and Berdimuhamedov will meet at a Turkmen tourist region called Avaza in Turkmenbashi city.
The three countries' ministers for energy, transport and foreign affairs are also expected to hold meetings on the sidelines of the presidential summit.
Caliber.Az recalls, that on November 28 a meeting between Türkiye’s and Turkmenistan’s high-ranking diplomats already took place.
According to Azerbaijan’s foreign ministry, the country is part of several projects with Turkmenistan, such as the Lapis Lazuli Route Agreement from 2017 which links Afghanistan to Türkiye through the two countries and Georgia, as well as an agreement on the construction of Siyazan-Turkmenbashi fibre-optic cable line under the Caspian Sea. Furthermore, a declaration signed on January 21, 2021, addresses the joint exploration, development and development of hydrocarbon resources in the Caspian Sea's Dostlug oil and gas field.
